Report on ITV session with Ambrose alli university AAU managemen....Protest

Report on ITV session with AAU management

The management of Ambrose Alli University were live on ITV this morning. Present in the media house was the school PRO and the new Dean.

The school PRO and the new Dean insisted that the protest of the students was uncalled for and also stated that alot of damages were sustained by the school.

They further said that soldiers who were present came on their own and no student was shot, the PRO continued that the soldiers were cautioning the students with Koboko. He surprisingly went further to say that the boy shot on the leg got a fracture while running and that he was not shot, meanwhile all responses from the new Dean showed he concurred to what the PRO had to say

It should be recalled that after the first peaceful protest which took place in Benin, the PRO in a call with ITV said that the persons who were protesting in Benin were not students of Ambrose Alli University, in his words "If you look at it very clearly, the protesting people do not even look like students.

The PRO kept on using the word "A group called NANS" during the interview section in order to make the NANS body look illegal to the general public but he admitted that it was a legal body when the interviewer cautioned him on the use of the words "A group", on admitting that it is a legal body recognized by the federal government, he alleged that the NANS president is acting without the support of the people he is presiding over.

The New Dean went on to say that since there is no SUG body now, a caretaker committee would be set up, the selection would be made from students across the 12 faculties of the school under the supervision of NANS in order to dialogue with the school management.

Meanwhile, the hospital where the student who was shot on the leg received treatment, has refused to release the report of the X-ray carried out on the leg and the students have vowed not to take it lightly with them.

Students of Ambrose Alli University are ready to go on Air, to speak with ITV in order to clear the allegations of the school.

In a chat with some of the students, they criticized the school management for deceiving the general public who were not at the scene of the protest, a 200Level student who pleaded anonymity said "How can a man with children and grey hair open his mouth to lie so badly without conscience? How can the PRO look at a student who was shot on the leg, and is currently using clutches to support his movement and say that he got a fracture while running?"

Meanwhile, there is an impromptu meeting between students with interest to the reduction of the fees and the meeting is slated for 4PM today at Idumebo, Oxford junction to be precise and anyone present in school as at now is required to be present.
